stray kids is the main reason why i've started to get interested in k-pop again. a good friend pointed out to me a while ago that i would like their music -- and that i would definitely find Felix interesting, the sweet-looking young man with the deep voice that you've probably come across on the internet before. a while after we had this conversation, i got into skz and slowly returned to a world i had long since left behind.

i just really enjoy watching them have fun and goof around with each other!! skz have a great group dynamic and are super entertaining in nearly every scenario that they are put into. it’s a pleasure to get to know them better through videos and to understand their little in-jokes and jabs against each other. it’s such a stress relief to watch their shows after a long day of work and enjoy some light entertainment, laugh about their jokes, and see them have fun with each other. i have already entered the parasocial-zone for sure, but i love them a lot - or at least what i can see of them on my screen.

i love watching them dance for some reason !! idk why it's just super entertaining to me!! i've not been obsessed with watching dance performances in my past k-pop phase, but this time it appears to be a thing that scratches the itch in my brain. seeing skz dance in such a great unity, moving in synch like one big organism … it’s fascinating! they have some cool moves and their positioning is also great. i enjoy it the most when they look happy or when they smile and laugh on stage, it’s a pleasure to see them have fun and be comfortable in front of their audience. another part that I like about their stages is the outfits and the stage design. there is so much work behind the whole performance, and most of the time it comes out stunning !!
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─── even though this stage is just a short one-time performance and also a cover of another artist’s song, it really stuck with me. i love the outfits that are heavily inspired by late-90s hip-hop fashion but still appear modern by styling the clothes in an early 2020s way. the dance performance fits the song well, with it being super reliant on precise formation and matching the tempo of the music. i also love the song itself, it’s typical 90s sound somehow makes me feel nostalgic for a time that i never got to experience. also, there is a super interesting story behind the original '말하자면' song: the original version of this song is the title track of former boygroup-member Kim Sungjae’s first solo album. Sungjae debuted as a soloist with this album and performed '말하자면' ('as i told you') for the first and last time on november 19th, 1995. after this performance, Sungjae was found dead in his hotel room with multiple suspicious circumstances pointing towards him being murdered. the whole case surrounding his tragic death was never really resolved, it’s still not clear if he was brutally murdered or if he took his own life in a tragic turn of events.

i really really like Han !! (i love everyone in skz; he just gets my extra special treatment)
so many things that Han does are just really relatable to me,
even though he appears to have a personality that is vastly different from mine.
small things like him always forgetting his lyrics, his love for chocolate or him associating songs with colors
are stuck in my mind and i keep thinking of him throughout the day.

i love seeing Han in videos -- even though he is pretty reserved/introverted overall,
he seems very energetic and excited most of the time when he is with the other members.
he does a lot of silly things when spending time in front of the camera with the others,
which is really entertaining to see -- and his laugh is so cute ;w; !!

on the other hand, there is something cool about him that certainly comes with being a rapper/producer.
the way he dresses and acts sometimes is something that i find super admirable.
it’s probably because i love korean hip-hop and rap music and because i’m trying to be kind of a cool/edgy person myself.
things like him saying that ‘if he would not be an idol, he would be a producer or
knowing the lyrics to DEAN’s song ‘instagram’ by heart are really getting him extra points from me,
that’s just so cool, hehe.

also his performances on stage are super nice to watch – he is always giving it his all,
this man puts in 120 % of his energy when he is performing his music on a stage.
it’s fun to see him sing/rap (and even singing along when it's not his part) and adjust his facial expressions when looking directly into the camera.
