P1Harmony is one of the most underappreciated k-pop groups out there at the moment in my opinion. these days, they do get a lot more attention and recognition, but i think there is so much more love out there that they deserve. their music has a strong, unique tone and many elements that are well-fitted to their style and talents. Keeho has one of the best voices in all of k-pop and sings so well, i can’t believe that he doesn’t get more praise for it. Jongseobs rap is so good that he can easily carry whole songs with it and Soul dances like there is no tomorrow. i think that their newer comebacks are very polished and can put their talents on display even more ; i really hope that they will be seen by more eyes in the future !!

how i found out about P1H

my interest in piwon was really sparked when i saw one of their tiktoks … it was the one with Soul and Jongseob lip-synching and making weird poses to the “my root came 2005” part from Killin’ it. i had already seen some tiktoks of them and recognized Soul instantly because of his hair. p1h always felt like the “cool and young tiktok-famous group” to me. back then, i didn’t really know if i wanted to get into one of the newer k-pop groups or if i just wanted to stay with my 3rd gen groups. but the song in the background was really catchy, so i checked out the MV. after that, it was basically over for me, haha. the styling was so cool, i really liked the song and the members looked fascinating. So i decided to check out their music!

my love for Killin’ it

Killin’ it is one of my favourite albums, not just in k-pop but overall.
there is just so much about it that really strikes a chord with me.
the styling, the music and the whole concept stood out to me.
i want to tell you more about it:

✩ styling ✩

the styling for the members and also the decoration of the sets for the MV and photoshootings is super cool. their stage and filming outfits incorporate so many unique and quirky elements, and even reflect the members personal styles to a degree. the colourful and exceptional hairstyles, the little idea with the sparkly p1h logo that can be a brooch or pendant, the ongoing themes and sparkly materials … i really like that! it feels fresh, new and out-there, like something that i haven’t even seen in k-pop before - a genre which is famously known to pioneer and set trends when it comes to pop-culture.

since i really like fashion and having my own unique way of combining, wearing and styling clothes, the idea of “showing off your own colors / killing’ it your way” from the title song and the album really spoke to me. i love that it is about being cool in your own way and kind of going against the mainstream when it comes to fashion.

when i first got into piwon, Killin’ it was the first album that i tuned into. at my first time listening to it, i found a lot of the songs super enjoyable, they fit my taste very well. Songs like Countdown To Love and Everybody Clap went directly into my playlist of favorite k-pop songs, and i instantly knew i had to show them to my best friend. when looking at the list of all the different titles from the album, i can directly play a part of every song in my head and jam to it - i have listened to that album so many times, i own two different versions and think of buying a third one.

just as it is with their variety and other shows, the editing of the music video stood out to me. creative changes between scenes like giant Jiung’s foot stomping the car followed by the zoom-up to him or when Jiung got copy-pasted into the Notes App really caught my eye and made me happy, it’s nice to see that people put so much thought into the video and realized some of their crazier ideas. the sets, different outfits and single parts for all the members were put together so well and create such a coherent picture, it’s nice and soothing to watch the video. it’s definitely one of the videos that i would show people when explaining why i like k-pop MVs so much!
